Real Sociedad’s Antoine Griezmann becomes the youngest player to play in 100 La Liga matches

Real Sociedad forward, Antoine Griezmann became the youngest player to play in 100 La Liga matches this past weekend against Rayo Vallecano.

The 22-year-old Frenchman broke the record of the previous holder, former Real Madrid midfielder, Clarence Seedorf who was 23-years-old when he reached the century mark for Los Blancos and held onto the honour for nearly 15 years.
Griezmann, who came up through the youth system and has seen the club rise to prominence since his debut in the Segunda Division, joins a long list of former Real Sociedad youngsters to reach 100 matches for the Basque outfit such as; Roberto Lopez Ufarte, Txiki Bergiristain and Jose Araguistain.
However, despite the tremendous accomplishment, Griezmann stated that he is more interested in contributing whatever he can to the team and winning titles, which now seems closer than ever as Real Sociedad are currently in fourth place in the league table and are currently on a 13 match unbeaten streak and on the cusp of sealing European qualification for next season.
