£17.5m winger linked with Manchester United answers questions on his future

Antoine Griezmann has been speaking about his future in light of recent reported interest from David Moyes' side. Perhaps it was because Manchester United drew Real Sociedad in the champions League, or perhaps there was more to it than that, but either way, the Spanish side’s winger Antoine Griezmann has found himself a regular in the rumour mill in recent weeks.

In truth the Frenchman generated many of the headlines himself, when he claimed United were one of the clubs monitoring him. At the time he said it was not affecting his game, and the proof was there for all to see as he bagged seven goals in 10La Liga matches.
The winger scored another earlier today – a mere consolation in Sociedad’s 5-1 defeat at Real Madrid. But even in defeat the impressive winger still managed to claim at least a few column inches on a day when his side were thoroughly outplayed by Cristiano Ronaldo et al.
And his future has again made the headlines as a result of an interview with Foot Mercato.
When asked if he saw himself remaining at Sociedad next season or if, following a Champions League campaign, he would seek pastures new, the winger was elusive in his response.
If it is coming to an end, I do not know,” Griezmann said. “But as I said, it’s far away for me. I’ve just started the season and I am enjoying it.”
Reportedly valued at £17.5million, and at just 22 years of age, the Frenchman will surely have many suitors when the time does come for him to leave Jagoba Arrasate’s team.
When asked what other leagues he would consider playing in, again Griezmann refused to be drawn.
I’m in one of the best leagues in the world,” he said. “I will not complain. A preference for another championship? I do not have one. And as I have said, I have the time and for me it is very far away.”
At such a young age, he may well feel there is absolutely no need to move on for now. But with aspirations to break into the French national team, and with the likes of United reportedly keeping a close eye on him, the future looks very bright for the man who refuses to be drawn on what it may involve.
